South Island Artistic Gymnastics Championships
South Island Champs for 2024 will be held the weekend of 7th & 8th September 2024.
Southern Trust Events Centre, Timaru
The South Island Artistic Championship Steering Committee runs this popular event every year, with the support of South Canterbury GymSports and Waimate Gymnastics Club.
2023 South Island Champs is done - Thank You to all who attended.
Thank you to everyone who joined us in Timaru and attended the South Island Champs. We hope it was a succesful day for you and your club. South Canterbury GymSports (and I'm sure Waimate Gymnastics Club) enjoyed helping bring the weekend to you all. Congratulations to all the gymnasts who competed over the weekend and a huge thank you to all the judges who gave their time. Without them there would be a competitions. Also thanks to everyone that supported the South Canterbury GymSports canteen upstairs.
Thanks to our Event Organiser Stuart and Competition Secretary Adrienne for their hours and hours of tireless work. Also thanks to Floor Manager Craig and his "apprentice" Johnny, and to Allison for joining us again for the weekend to look after Scoreholder, it is always a fun time sharing the office with her. Thanks to the Watson family from Waimate GC for manning the music desk and Sue for her expert announcing at prizegiving and marshalling.
A huge shout out to the South Canterbury GymSports canteen committee who undertook the huge job of organising and running the canteen. Lastly thanks to the families from both SC and Waimate clubs who helped with the packing down,setting up, packing down and setting up again of all the gear, and the drivers who delivered it. It is a huge weekend and some families did well above their share, hopefully next year we will have bigger numbers to help out. THANK YOU TO YOU ALL!
